About Siu Lim Tao (the little idea)

Siu Lim Tao is the foundation of Wing Chun.

Translated it means the little idea.

It is the first hand form in the Wing Chun system.

But this translation does not do justice to the meaning of this unique, fantastic form. Hidden within its structure are true fighting principles that make Wing Chun so effective. Therefore, the challenge to practitioners is that in order to acquire real fighting principles, they must consider the Siu Lim Tao techniques as a template (pattern) of these principles. The Siu Lim Tao is learned in three phases.

2. strength and energy control

3. short paths

The execution and implementation of the movements can change from phase to phase!

Other exercise methods include: Time Form - this is an exercise in which the individual positions are held under tension for 1-3 minutes. Time Form trains the muscles, correct stance, diaphragmatic breathing, kind of meditation.

Form on one leg, on plum blossom poles or blindfolded - this form of training also serves to strengthen the leg muscles and the sense of balance.
